What We Believe

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.  It is the revelation of His will for salvation and the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.                (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21;)
  • We believe in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19: 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 14:10, 26)
  • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His death on the cross; His resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His imminent return. (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:528)
  • We believe that man was created by and for God and that man was created in God's image. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3; 4:17-19)
  • We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross and that He was a perfect, atoning sacrifice.  We believe that all who believe in Him are declared righteous because of His sacrificial death. (Acts 2:18-36; Romans 3:24-25; 1 Peter 2:24; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit indwelling all believers, enabling and empowering the life and ministry of the believer. (John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 3:6; Ephesians 1:13-14)
  • We believe in the Holy Ordinance of Baptism by immersion in water.  It is to be participated in by believers and is a picture of death to sin, burial and resurrection with Him in newness of life. (Romans 6:3-7; Mark 1:10; Acts 8:38)
  • We believe in the Holy Ordinance of the Lord's Supper.  We believe it is to be celebrated as a command of Jesus and that the elements of bread and wine, representing His Body and Blood, are divine symbols of His sacrifice for the souls of humanity. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; 18:18; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
  • We believe in the power of prayer and believe that it is a command of Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7; Matthew 7:7)
